our Story

Founded around the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, April 2020, the SCV LGBTQ Center was a budding seed that began to take root in the minds of Finley (son) and Dawn (mother) as they pondered the lack of structured resources and community in Santa Clarita, CA, Finley’s hometown and Dawn’s place of residence for over 20 years. They set to work and spread the word, quickly gaining a passionate following and the support of several organizations such as Queer SCV and PFLAG of SCV.

As Dawn became the president of PFLAG SCV, the Center recruited several incredible members and allies of the local LGBTQ community to work towards the goal of establishing a permanent location in Santa Clarita to home the SCV LGBTQ Center. Jay, Kelly, Katherine, Beckett, and Gabby were among the first to join Finley in the goal of establishing this much-needed and desired resource hub and community center in Santa Clarita.
