Our Mission
The SCV LGBTQ Center is a resource hub for the Santa Clarita Valley LGBTQ community fulfilling medical needs both physical and mental, fulfilling social needs with support groups and safe spaces, fulfilling community needs with events and programs that encourage city-wide participation and inclusion, and fulfilling the responsibility of fostering a more accepting and loving environment in the Santa Clarita Valley.
The history of LGBTQ advancements in Santa Clarita is undeniably short. There have yet to be any city sponsored LGBTQ centered resources, there is no mandate for teaching LGBTQ history in schools, students and residents still face harassment for their sexual orientation, gender identity, or skin color. Thanks to incredible long-time citizen and activist Malcolm Blue, the City of Santa Clarita has officially recognized June as Pride month as of 2019, a huge step in the right direction for the city. We are ready to grasp this recognition and rally together the people of SCV to effect positive change for everyone who lives here, and the future generations that will.

“Having an LGBTQ Center in SCV is absolutely necessary. I want to feel that I am part of this community. Traveling far distances to try to connect with other LGBTQ communities is not always accessible and doesn't help our non LgBTQ community in accepting and making space to include the LGBTQ community that is a vital part of our SCV community.”
“I know so many people in SCV including some relatives who are not okay with gay marriage. It bothers me. We need help informing my city.”
“Thank you for spearheading this effort. We are the 3rd largest city in L.A. County and an LGBTQ Center is long overdue!”
“An LGBTQ+ center in SCV would be amazing! While there are some great resources and organizations in Los Angeles, the distance makes them fairly inaccessible to those of us in Santa Clarita. It would be really great to have a central location/organization for our local community <3”

Get Involved
We are starting small — really small. We will need all the help we can get to launch this project off the ground and turn it into something incredible. You, the community, are our partner in this so if you want to help in any way you can—whether that be making a donation, signing up for our email list, or even actively joining our team—then do not be afraid to reach out. So far we do not have any programs or events, but we want to change that as soon as we can. Don’t be shy.
